2006 Undergraduate Summer Research Program in Computational Algebraic Geometry

About the program

In the Summer of 2006 the Mathematics Department of Rice University will host a Research Experiences for Undergraduates site. Student participants will work with faculty on research projects in computational algebraic geometry. The program will involve 5 students. There are no formal academic requirements, however, the completion of an undergraduate course in abstract algebra, algebraic geometry or number theory is recommended.

Support for this site is provided by the National Science Foundation. Participants will be selected from qualified applicants. Rice University is an equal opportunity institution; minorities, women and disabled persons are encouraged to apply.

Information on past projects is available here

The program will run for eight weeks, tentatively from May 29 to July 21, 2006.
