Canal surfaces are envelopes of smooth 1-parameter families of spheres in R^3. About 10 years ago it was proved that a canal surface is rational provided its spine curve and radius function are rational. The talk is devoted to special Bezier patches on canal surfaces and their applications to rational offset-stable blendings of natural quadrics.
