Abstract: The talk is an introductory overview on a research project pertaining to number theory (Farey fractions and continued fractions), dynamical systems (interval maps and geodesic flows), spectral theory (transfer operators and hyperbolic laplacian) and statistical mechanics (phase transitions in ferromagnetic spin chains).
