"A knot invariant from algebraic geometry"

Abstract:
We describe a doubly graded homology which is a knot invariant and is
constructed by looking at coherent sheaves on certain algebraic varieties.
These varieties are easy to define but we'll try to give some motivation
for their construction. Finally, we conjecture how this invariant is
equivalent to Khovanov homology. This is joint work with Joel Kamnitzer.
