4:00 pm Monday, April 3, 2017 Topology Seminar: Transverse knots and combinatorial knot Floer homologyby Shea Vela-Vick (LSU) in HBH 427- In this talk, we describe a braid-theoretic approach to combinatorial knot Floer homology. To each transverse braid B in the standard contact 3-sphere, we associate a combinatorial complex which computes the knot Floer homology of the associated braid closure. Inside this combinatorial complex, we identify a cycle whose homology class is an invariant of the transverse knot specified by the braid B, and which agrees with the usual transverse invariant in knot Floer homology.
