4:00 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2008 Ergodic Theory Seminar: On the distribution of eigenvalues of large random matrices at the edges of the spectrumby
Alexander Soshnikov (UC Davis) in HB 227- Universality problem of the local distribution of the eigenvalues of large random matrices is one of the most challenging problems in Random Matrix Theory. I will talk about recent results about the distribution of the largest and smallest eigenvalues in Wigner and sample covariance random matrices. Some of the results are joint with Sandrine Peche (Grenoble).
