Paid Visitor Lots

North Lot

North Lot is the closest visitor parking lot to the mathematics department which is located in Herman Brown Hall. North Lot is available to visitors weekdays after 5:30 pm and all day long on the weekends and holidays. During these times, most of parking spots in North Lot are available for visitors. The fee is $1/17.5 minutes, with a $10 daily maximum (credit card only). North Lot is located between entrance gates 20 and 21. Herman Brown Hall is southeast of North Lot, directly south of Mudd Lab, which is immediately southeast of North Lot.

Alice Pratt Brown Lot

Alice Pratt Brown Lot (APB Lot) is the next closest visitor parking lot to the mathematics department, which is located in Herman Brown Hall. APB Lot is approximately half of one mile to Herman Brown Hall. One may walk or take the shuttle from APB Lot. Oftentimes, walking is quicker. The fee is $1/35 minutes, with a $10 daily maximum (credit card only).

Shuttle Route

To take the shuttle, look towards the football stadium, and you will see a bus stop labeled 1, 2, or 3. At any of these stops, board the Inner Loop shuttle and ask the driver to stop at Valhalla (you will circle around the main entrance of the University. After seeing a very colorful building on your right, you will need to disembark at the next stop.) Keck Hall is the large building at the bus stop. Herman Brown Hall is behind and to the left of Keck Hall.

Walking Route

While in APB Lot, look at the large building with columns (APB Hall). You will need to take the sidewalk to the left and beyond this building. If intramural fields are on your left and buildings on your right, then you are headed in the right direction. Head away from the parking lots toward the heart of campus. You will cross a street and come upon the Rice Memorial Center, which has a bell tower. Cross the street you are walking along (so that you are opposite from the RMC) and continue walking in the direction of the street. You will pass George R Brown Hall on your left (a large archway and walkway are the main features of this building). After passing GRB Hall, turn left and you will see Herman Brown Hall.

Free Visitor Lot

Near the stadium there is a free parking lot, called Greenbriar Lot. It is on the west side of campus and Gates 13A and 13B are the entrance. Use the link parking and shuttle maps and information for information on reaching Herman Brown Hall from Greenbriar Lot via shuttle. One can also make the 8/10 mile walk rather quickly.
